Members of the Board and their brief background.

Dr. Kamala Kanta Beuria, Chairman
Prof(Dr.) K.K. Beuria is a Professor in General Management & Human Resource Management for more than 28 years. He is M.Com & Ph.D. in Industrial Relations. He has been trained in FDPs conducted by many reputed B-Schools of the Country and to name a few, IIM, Ahmedabad in 1985, IIM, Bangalaore in 1994 and XLRI, in 1996. His core area of teaching includes Legal Aspects of Business, Business Ethics and Corporate Governance, Labour Legislation, Fundamentals of Management, Industrial Relations etc. Dr. Beuria is the Examiner and Question Setter for the Universities and other institutions.

Prof. (Er.) Kishore Chandra Mohapatra, Vice Chairman
Prof. (Er.) K.C. Mohapatra is basically M.Tech with more than 37yrs of teaching experience. He was Principal of Women Polytechnic College, Bhubaneswar. Er. Mohapatra is a visiting Professor to Engineering Colleges of Orissa, IIT, Khargapur, Govt. Polytechnic Colleges in Orissa and other states. Prof. Mohapatra is a man of literature and famous play writer in the state of Orissa. He has been awarded with many prizes for his contribution as a play writer.

Prof. Hemant Kumar Patnaik, Secretary
Prof. H.K. Patnaik an enterprising soul, took up the challenges of pioneering academic entrepreneurship in the state. He ventured into the field of Management Education in 1982, Prof. Patnaik, is an academic, entrepreneur and started his management institution for the first time in Orissa in the year 1982. He laid the foundation stone of the B-School in Orissa. Prof. Patnaik is basically M. Com and FDP from XLRI . He was Ex-Director of Bhubaneswar Stock Exchange and the present Managing Director of M/s Deeptiraj Finance & Co.. Mr. Patnaik has been associated with many social development activities in the state of Orissa.

Mr. Sisir Kumar Das, Joint Secretary
After competing his Post Graduate programme Mr. Das, started his career as an entrepreneur in the State Capital of Orissa. He faced many challenges to became a successful entrepreneur with all dedication and sincerity. Mr. Das has industrial experience for more than 26 years.

Mr. Rama Ranjan Swain, Executive Member
Prof. Swain, is into academics for last 23 years. He is a Professor in Oriya literature and presently working as Principal of B.C. College, Cuttack, Orissa. He is a Poet and writer of oriya novels. He is commonly known as a critic of Oriya literature and has own many awards for contribution to oriya literature. He is a social worker too.

Mr. Thomas Mathew, Executive Member
Professor Mathew is basically M. Com and ICWA. Teaching in B-Schools is the hobby and passion of Prof. Mahew. He was Ex-Director, Bhubaneswar Stock Exchange and presently Director, Managalam Lubricants. His long association with ICWA Orissa chapter has made the chapter successful in producing cost professionals in the state of Orissa. His specialized areas of teaching include Direct and Indirect tax, Security Analysis and Investment Management, Cost and Management Accounting etc..

Mr. Srikant Dash, Executive Member
Mr. Dash has experience in trade and commerce for more than 23 years. He is the Managing Director of M/s Sumit Electricals dealing with electronics and electricals products in Bhubaneswar Orissa for more than 20 years. Mr. Das is associated with many organization of Orissa dealing with Social Devolvement and Social cause.

Nature and Extent of involvement of faculty and students in academic affairs/ improvements

IMIS has formed a Faculty Council, who seats on last Saturday of every month and make a review of the academic activities and also monitor the academic calendar. It formulates the strategies for academic excellence and focuses on the development of individual student. Each faculty is attached to a group of students as a mentor and the development of the students are periodically reviewed in the meeting.

Apart from the regular academic assignment faculty members are assigned with co-curricular activities viz; Publication, Library, Seminar & Workshop, Alumni Association, Students Activities, Celebration, Curriculum Design, Training & Placements, Institute Industry Interface, Communication Lab and Saturday Business Session. In addition to the academic activities the faculty members do carryout Research, FDP, MDP, Training and consultancy activities.

Students of IMIS are also equally take part in academic activities and they represents to various committees viz, Seminar & Workshop, Alumni Association, Publication, Placements, Celebration and Saturday business session etc.

With the support of faculty members they organize many events viz; Management Odyssey (B-School Meet), Xpressus (Student's forum), Brandex (Brand Mela), Fin-Vista (Finance Club), Markues (Marketing Club), Panacea (HR Club), Enigma (B-Quiz Club), Voice of Ocean (Music Club) etc.

Eligibility
The minimum qualification for admission into this program is Bachelor's Degree in any discipline. The candidates pursuing final year graduation and expecting their result by August 31, 2010 can also apply.

Selection Procedure
The selection will be made on the basis of scores of XAT, conducted by XLRI , Jamshedpur in January 2010 OR MAT, conducted by AIMA in December 2009/February 2010 followed by G.D. & P.I, which will be conducted at Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Delhi, Jamshedpur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Raipur etc. A candidate can appear for any one of the written tests, i.e., XAT or MAT alongwith G.D. & P.I to be conducted in various locations. The candidate has to opt for IMIS in the Application Form of XAT/MAT.

How to Apply
A candidate can APPLY ONLINE to IMIS by logging on to http://www.imis.ac.in for registration. Complete instructions for online application are available at this website. Upon completion of the application form an Identification No (ID) will be allotted to the candidate. Please note this ID Number for further correspondence.

A candidate can also purchase the application form & Info-bulletin by sending the application fee and the same can be submitted to IMIS by post.

The candidate applying through online or seeking application form by post has to remit Rs.600/ - (Six Hundred) only through a Bank Draft in favor of "IMIS, Bhubaneswar" payable at Bhubaneswar . For online applicant, on receipt of the DD, IMIS will authenticate the payment details and will send a mail to confirm the acceptance of the application form for admission 2010. Last date for submission of Application Form is January 31, 2010 or 31st March 2010 (Only for February 2010 MAT)

Attested photocopies in duplicate of the following documents and photographs are to be submitted along with the application. The final year graduating students are required to submit the Class X pass certificate and photograph with an undertaking to submit the degree pass mark sheet/certificate by August 31,2010.

Criteria for GD/Personal Interview
The candidates opted for IMIS in MAT & XAT Application form OR requested to share the MAT & XAT score have been called for GD & PI.

Attributes for evaluation in GD/Interview : Communication, Leadership, Group Dynamics, IQ, IPR, Articulation skills, Ability to handle stress, Organizational Acumen, Adaptability & Subject knowledge.

Results

  • Composition of evaluation team with the brief profiles of members (This information will be made available in the public domain after the admission process is over)

  • Score of the individual candidates called for Group Discussion and Interview in each of the components including the test and in total, arranged in order of merit. (This information will be available after the test is over.)

  • List of candidates who have been offered admission in each category. (This information will be available after the declaration of result.)

  • Waiting list of the candidates in order of merit to be operative from the last date of joining of the first list candidates, category wise. (This information will be available after the declaration of result.)

  • List of the candidates who joined within the date vacancy position in each category before operation of waiting list. (This information will be available after the admission of first selection is over.)

    Executive PGDM Admissions 2010

Participant Eligibility

Experienced people who are Executives/Managers/Entrepreneurs having a Bachelor's degree in any discipline are eligible to apply. Company sponsored candidates will be preferred. Professional qualification(s) such as Engineer, CA, CS, Cost Accountant, Architect, Doctor and the likes would have an added advantage for admission. Candidates must have attained 25 years age to become eligible for the program.

Application Procedure

A candidate can apply Online to IMIS by logging on to <http://www.imis.ac.in>. Candidates applying through online or seeking application form by post/office counter have to remit Rs. 600/- (Rupees Six Hundred Only) through Bank Draft in favor of “IMIS, Bhubaneswar” payable at Bhubaneswar.

Documents Required

Attested photocopies of the following documents and photographs are to be submitted along with the application (All original Certificates and Mark Sheets will be verified at the time of admission). Class X Pass Certificate; Degree Certificates (Provisional acceptable); Degree / PG Mark Sheet; College Leaving Certificate; Proof of Experience; Recent colored pass port size (10nos) photographs (To be submitted at the time of admission).

Selection Procedure

Admission to the Executive PGDM program is based on candidate's academic record, scholastic achievements, relevant work experience and personal interview to be held in Bhubaneswar.

Sponsorship

The program would admit both organization-sponsored and self-supporting candidates. A letter of consent from the organization would be required in case of sponsored candidates.
